Middle Data/BI Analyst

About the role:

We are looking for a Middle Data/BI Analyst with a solid portfolio in BI and data analysis (preferably with knowledge in Python) to join our project with General Catalyst, a renowned venture capital firm based in the US.

Salary:

10,000 - 19,500 PLN - B2B

8,500 - 16,500 PLN UoP

2,000 - 4,000 USD

Skills & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar disciplines;
3+ years of experience as a BI engineer, data analyst, or similar role;
3+ years of experience in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Sisense, or QuickSight;
1+ years of experience in programming languages used for data analysis and automation (Preferably Python);
Strong SQL experience;
Previous experience with data warehouses and/or data lakes.

Responsibilities:

Build reporting dashboards using BI tools such as Power BI, Google Data Studio, Sisense, or Tableau on top of the data warehouses and/or data lake solutions;
Learn and understand data resources and prepare them for analytical usage;
Work closely with users and data engineers to understand data flows and provide data/analysis for better decision-making;
Design and develop analytical automated processes for large-scale data analysis;
Understand and write high-quality and efficient queries to retrieve and analyze data;
Define analytical approaches and metrics strategy to uncover new insights and formulate recommendations that improve productivity;
Work with Data Engineers to assure data consistency and accuracy;
Work closely with Solution Architect, Product Owner, and users to understand customer needs and provide solutions.

About the Project

General Catalyst (GC) currently runs the fund using Salesforce as the master data repository and Google Drive for document storage. Different departments use multiple siloed systems for data management, ranging from Excel to external commercial tools to custom-built user-facing apps.

The major Problem with that is the suboptimal time to make the final decision. Analysts can’t rely on the existing data due to possible human errors and complicated data management. That is why even simple reports preparation becomes a time-consuming burden requiring manual operations to make data reporting-ready.

The Solution to those problems is to build a unified data platform that will be integrated with Salesforce and other existing systems to efficiently transform financial, legal, and ops data to datamarts ready for interaction and comprehensive visualization with BI tools on Web and Mobile platforms.

Leveraging the GC comprehensive data pool will supercharge the reporting and decision-making with elegant and functional BI dashboards for all business users, and provide a lasting competitive advantage through technology.
