About the role:

We’re looking for Python Engineer, who will act as a fully dedicated, integrated extension of the engineering team. You will be solely focused on our project, attending daily standups, working hand-in-hand with other developers through the integration process, supporting the back-end, maximizing the overlap of the teams across time zones.

Your primary focus will be on scraping and all that is related to it, including monitoring, performance optimization, and regular adjustment of scraping procedures. You will also interact closely with further data processing.

About the project:

Challenging startup started 2 months ago with no legacy code. The Client wants to build  easy-to-use valuation tools for e-commerce stores (Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Shopify, or other) – range of valuations based on key business metrics, like sales, growth and profitability; historical valuations to understand how performance changes over time; areas of potential improvement.

ABOUT THE CLIENT:

Growth capital company that helps to build out online stores on Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Shopify, or other e-commerce platforms, with business tools and proprietary solutions that gives a competitive edge of online presence. Capital-as-a-Service (CaaS) solution that allows platforms and marketplaces to offer custom funding solutions to amplify customer growth with a unique suite of APIs and SDKs.

Who are we looking for?

Qualifications: 

  • Proficiency with Python. Knowledge of Python internals (e.g., GIL) and advanced concepts (e.g., multiprocessing, asyncio). 
  • Significant solid experience in scraping data from different sources.
  • Solid understanding of hidden rocks and whole process of scraping data
  • Grok and solid experience with details affected the effective scraping: networking and network protocols, APIs limitations, how not to be blocked and how to get unblocked while scraping and other stuff
  • Solid understanding of modern architectures;
  • Understanding of distributed systems, experience with designing services that interact with distributed systems (e.g., databases and message queues);
  • Experience in AWS or alternatives (GCP or another) from 2 years
  • Experience with databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, etc.), proficiency with SQL;
  • Upper-Intermediate English.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in coordinating a small team would be a plus
  • Experience with Django would be a plus

  • Ensuring the goals are met and ensuring the quality of the code via a standard code review process;
  • Work according to Agile process
