About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer to join the engineering team, understand the existing codebase and architecture (which is relatively complex), and drive both existing systems updates and greenfield development of new services. Additionally, the Engineer will build and architect new systems in Java and Kafka.

About the project:

The client is an American-European e-commerce and logistic conglomerate company with a development team in Europe. The company provides a platform for searching, configuring and ordering interior, as well as samples of architectural, construction, and design materials. Executing complex searches across hundreds of brands in seconds, architects and designers customers can find and order all the material samples they need in one place.

Who are we looking for?

Skills & Experience

Solid working experience in Java at least 5 years;
At least 3 years with Kafka;
Working experience in PostgreSQL or alternative;
Object-oriented and service-oriented design concepts, including knowledge of data transfer objects and associated design patterns;
Hands-on experience with unit testing;
Production Golang experience is highly desirable (nice to have)
English – Upper-intermediate or above.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain high-scale, high-performance data processing and interface solutions;
Take the initiative in the development process and working atmosphere improvements;
Be proactive in suggesting new vision and approaches to the platform development; anticipate problems or issues that may arise;
“Get things done” approach.

Work with a highly skilled engineering team in all phases of the Agile development process, from design to deployment;
