Culture Code: Charity Exhibition/Auction

Culture Code:

Culture Code: charity exhibition/auction sponsored by Proxet and the School of Contemporary Art (October 9-10, Kyiv)

Proxet, in a partnership with the School of Contemporary Art, is launching the Proxet Art Gallery project. For two days only (October 9-10), our IT office will transform into an art gallery.

We will be hosting the exhibition called “Culture Code,” with works of at least 30 various local, contemporary Ukrainian artists. We gladly invite all our employees to witness our first-ever Proxet Art Gallery. We gladly invite all our employees to witness our first-ever Proxet Art Gallery.

The main purpose of this project is to discover whether or not IT specialists are interested in culture, in this case, contemporary Ukrainian art. We also would like to debunk the stereotype that technical specialists are only fond of hardware and software, therefore not caring about things like aesthetics, art, and socio-cultural trends. The newest shift has been to add art to the classic STEM (Science, Technology Engineering, Mathematics) abbreviation, now making it STEAM. Let’s see how well IT mixes with art.

In addition to the exhibition itself, which will be open to viewing on both October 9th and 10th, the guests of our main event will participate in a guided tour on the day of the exhibition’s opening (October 9th) with an art critic’s explanation of each of the pieces, followed by a meeting with the artists of the works themselves. Finally, the main part of this event will be an auction, where you can buy a specific work that you really like, and therefore support the local, contemporary Ukrainian art scene here in Kyiv.

**A PORTION OF THE FUNDS COLLECTED FROM THE AUCTION WILL BE SUBMITTED FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE “MY CONTEMPORARY ART PROJECT,” WHICH PROMOTES THE LATEST IN UKRAINIAN ART.**

One of the main goals of the Proxet Art Gallery Project is supporting the arts in our country and our community. Another goal is to expand our understanding of the contemporary artistic context with an audience that is more accustomed to dealing regularly with programming code more than dealing with cultural code.

WE invite you to the opening of Proxet Art Gallery on october 9th at 15:00, at honcharna,2 (proxet office, podil, vozdvyzhenka).
