Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent local certification is preferred.
• Additional certifications in taxation or financial management (e.g., IFRS, tax law) are a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or financial control, preferably in multinational companies. Experience in IT outsourcing companies would be a plus.
• Experience managing or supervising outsourced accounting teams is highly desirable.
• Strong background in Colombian tax regulations, including ICA, VAT, Corporate income tax, and other local and state taxes.
• Hands-on experience in payroll administration, including salary calculations, benefits, and deductions.
• Experience with statutory reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance in Colombia.
• Strong knowledge of Colombian accounting standards (COLGAAP).
• Familiarity with US-GAAP is a plus.
• Proficiency in accounting and ERP software (e.g., QuickBooks, or local systems like SIIGO).
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools.
• Proficiency in English is highly desirable for communication with the US headquarters.
• Strong leadership and enforcement skills to manage and control outsourced teams.
• High attention to detail and ability to verify and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate between Colombia and the US parent company.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  

Responsibilities

• Supervising and reviewing for the Proxet Colombia subsidiary the outsourced accounting team’s financial and accounting work to ensure compliance with local regulations and international accounting standards.
• Enforcing deadlines and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Overseeing payroll administration, including verification of salary calculations, benefits, and deductions.
• Reviewing and validating tax calculations, including ICA, VAT, and other Colombian taxes, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Supporting audits and statutory filings by ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
• Acting as a bridge between the Colombian financial operations and the U.S. parent company, ensuring seamless communication and alignment with corporate policies, financial reporting, and internal practices.
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and controls.
• Working in close connection with the HR department to review and facilitate from a financial perspective all relevant human resources’ related payments and benefits (for example, vacation, sick leaves, expense reimbursements).
• This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive professional with a strong background in accounting and tax compliance in Colombia, as well as experience in managing outsourced financial functions.
