About the role
We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and workflows. In this role, you will focus on integrating diverse data sources, ensuring data quality, and enabling scalable data products that power analytics and applications. You'll work as part of a cross-functional team, collaborating with product managers, analysts, and architects to deliver robust data solutions that drive business value.
Who are we looking for?
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field;
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering roles and leading data engineering teams;
- Database management and SQL proficiency, knowledge of modern data warehousing tools like Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift (hands-on);
- Data modeling and design;
- Strong programming skills (Python, Spark);
- Experience of data governance frameworks and compliance requirements;
- Knowledge of big data technologies, machine learning integration or API development;
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (preferable AWS) for scalable solutions;
- Expertise in streaming pipeline design and complex data transformation;
- Ability to analyze system requirements and translate them into effective technical designs;
- Experience with performance optimization for large-scale databases;
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices;
- Problem-solving mindset to address technical challenges in dynamic environments;
- Collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams;
- Experience with multiple coding assistants like Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor; tools like lovable.dev, v0.app, bolt.new would be a plus;
- Asset management experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the data engineering activities across the team and ensure delivery of data projects;
- Work with the Data Architect to implement architectural designs and standards;
- Build, test, and maintain data and backend solutions;
- Implement CDC pipelines and maintain them across production systems;
- Develop and optimize data models for efficient storage and querying;
- Monitor pipeline/system health, identify bottlenecks, and tune performance for scalability;
- Maintain compliance with data security and governance policies defined by architecture teams;
- Collaborate with analysts, scientists, and software engineers to deliver reliable data solutions;
- Stay updated on tools and frameworks to improve team productivity.
