Palantir Foundry, Azure, Power BI, Tableau, Visible Alpha, CapIQ
About the role
In this role, you will be a bridge between product/business strategy, data analytics, and technology delivery by gathering the scope, defining the product vision and building a roadmap for products that enable smarter, faster, and more informed investment decisions.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Data Architect, ML Engineer, Palantir Foundry Analyst BA/QA and business stakeholders to translate opportunities and client needs into impactful product features and measurable business outcomes.
If you are a Senior Business Analyst who thrives in a software consulting environment, comfortable switching contexts, leading client conversations, and turning ambiguity into shipped, reliable data products for real investment teams, this job is for you!
About the project
This project involves developing a centralized data platform tailored for a leading, multidisciplinary asset manager. The goal is to support informed, data-driven investment decisions for high-growth companies, asset portfolios, and other instruments. The platform will consolidate a diverse set of data sources—including financial, legal, and operational data—into a unified, secure environment, reducing manual data handling and minimizing errors.
By transforming raw data into structured data marts, the platform will enable sophisticated analytics, real-time visualization, and performance tracking through tools accessible via web and mobile interfaces. This will enable PMs and analysts to assess portfolio risks quickly, identify emerging opportunities, and conduct scenario analyses.
The project leverages Palantir Foundry capabilities to build scalable, repeatable data pipelines, integrating key data sources such as Visible Alpha and CapIQ. Outputs will include detailed tables and customizable charts to facilitate comparative analysis across assets, sectors, and timeframes. An innovative set of charting tools enabling users to customize key metrics roll-ups on select portfolio assets over arbitrary timeframes, enhancing asset allocation and investment strategies.
Future phases will incorporate AI and machine learning functionalities to enhance predictive analytics, optimize portfolio construction, and improve risk management. This initiative aims to provide a strategic advantage by delivering timely, accurate insights aligned with asset management objectives. It is a long-term project designed for continuous evolution to meet the dynamic needs of asset managers and investment teams.
Who are we looking for?
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst (or equivalent) in financial services, asset management, investment platforms, or fintech.
- Proven track record of delivering data or analytics-focused products, preferably with ML/AI or automation components.
- Strong understanding of asset management, workflows, financial reporting, and investment data (EBITDA, EV, revenue, NTN, LTM).
- Experience defining product strategy and success metrics aligned with business goals.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice to have:
- Experience with data-driven products, APIs, or cloud-based analytics tools (AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Palantir Foundry, or similar).
- Familiarity with data visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Palantir Foundry) or financial modeling tools.
- Background in AI/ML applications in investment management (forecasting, risk analysis, research).
- Experience working with enterprise data platforms or digital transformation projects in financial services.
Responsibilities:
- End-to-end participant: Be part of the full product lifecycle—from requirements gathering and ideation → delivery → iterative improvements—with a bias for measurable outcomes and clean execution.
- Collaborative partner: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with asset-management professionals, investment analysts, and technology teams to define use cases, set priorities, and keep delivery on track (backlog, ceremonies, stakeholder readouts).
- Research-to-reporting impact: Gather requirements and building features that improve investment research, portfolio management, and reporting efficiency through automation, analytics, and data-driven insights.
- Business-value translator: A deep grasp of the asset-management business model, financial instruments, and data workflows lets you align technical capabilities with real business value.
- Bridge builder: Speak both investment and engineering—translating portfolio goals into crisp requirements, data contracts, and acceptance criteria.
- Domain fluent: Strong equities and portfolio construction depth, plus back-office realities (trade capture/allocations, pricing/NAV, corporate actions, reconciliations, performance & attribution) and practical front-office concerns (idea → sizing → rebalance, risk).
- Hands-on with paperwork: You write great PRDs and metric definitions (P&L, NAV, attribution, factor exposures).
- Data-platform aware: Understanding of Palantir Foundry or similar (Snowflake/Databricks), governed data marts, RBAC/entitlements, lineage, SLAs/SLOs, and data-quality guardrails.
- Integrator mindset: You’ve specified robust ingestion/API patterns for sources like Visible Alpha, CapIQ, and operational feeds from custodians/fund admins.
- Consulting DNA: Client-facing, clear under pressure, scope-aware, and always looking for patterns you can reuse across clients.
- Curious about what’s next: Pragmatic about AI/ML—you frame high-ROI use cases, define evaluation metrics, and set sensible guardrails.
- Lead product discovery, participate in prioritization, and release planning, ensuring timely and precisely gathered requirements that leads to delivery of high-impact features.
- Support change management, user enablement, and documentation during rollout and adoption phases.
- Stay ahead of market trends and client feedback to inform continuous improvement and competitive differentiation.
