About the role:

About the project:
We are working with a New York-based prop-tech company that is centralizing and connecting large volumes of real estate data. Their cloud platform consolidates billions of property and ownership records into a unified, queryable knowledge graph, providing real estate investors, lenders, and insurers with a single source of truth for key information. This allows users to access crucial data and make more informed, data-driven decisions.
Proxet is assisting the client with the data engineering aspects of this project. Our work involves using a tech stack that includes GCP, dbt, Snowflake, Python, and TSQL to help them build and maintain their data infrastructure.
Who are we looking for?
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering roles.
- Proficiency in GCP, dbt, Snowflake, Python
- Strong understanding of data governance, data modeling & analysis, and data quality concepts.
- Understanding of the data lifecycle, DataOps concepts, and fundamental design patterns.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, database management systems, and optimization.
- Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow).
- 5+ years of experience working with big data tools and cloud data platforms.
- Knowledge of modern data warehousing tools like Snowflake, Databricks, and Redshift.
- Experience with data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of machine learning frameworks.
- An analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills for debugging complex systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to be proactive are crucial for project success and for collaborating with technical and non-technical teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain scalable data processing systems and pipelines;
- Automate and improve data processes for scalability and efficiency;
- Optimize DB queries and systems for speed and efficiency;
- Design and implement efficient data storage solutions (e.g.,relational databases, data lakes, warehouses);
- Monitor data infrastructure for performance and reliability;
- Implement validation processes to ensure high-quality, clean, and reliable datasets, and advanced data governance frameworks;
- Develop tools/scripts to automate repetitive tasks for data processing and monitoring;
- Collaborate closely with the team members and other stakeholders;
- Provide technical support and mentoring to junior data engineers;
- Participate in data governance and compliance efforts;
- Document data pipelines, processes, and best practices;
- Evaluate and recommend new data technologies.
