About the role
Proxet is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to own the frontend architecture and build data-driven user interfaces that support mission-critical defense applications. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical depth, builder mindset, leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and comfort working directly with stakeholders and client engineering teams.

Our client is a U.S.-based software company specializing in defense analytics. Its flagship platform leverages artificial intelligence and integrated data to modernize and accelerate the defense acquisition process. The company serves as a strategic technology partner to the U.S. government in support of national security initiatives.
Location
Hybrid - Boston, US.
Requires US citizenship and hybrid work from the Newton office 3 days per week, with occasional travel to Pittsburgh.
Who are we looking for?
Skills & Experience
- Must be a US citizen and reside in the US
- B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of full-stack software engineering experience (3+ years in a senior frontend React role)
- 3+ years of recent React experience, or 5+ years of total React experience.
- Proven ability to define and implement frontend strategy, including state management patterns, component architecture, performance optimization, and scalable application structure
- Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript and the React ecosystem (Hooks and advanced rendering patterns)
- Deep fluency in leveraging AI tools (e.g., Claude Code) to accelerate development cycles and automate boilerplate
- Ability to clearly explain technical trade-offs and their impact to cross-functional partners and leadership
- Strong communication and presentation skills
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement high-performance web applications.
- Engineer a modular, accessible component library to ensure UI consistency and high reusability across platforms
- Interface with Product, Design, and Backend stakeholders to define API contracts, data modeling, and seamless integration patterns.
- Facilitate high-impact design reviews to drive consensus on architectural shifts and mitigate technical debt
- Standardize AI-augmented development workflows (e.g., Claude Code) to maximize team velocity and code quality
