About the role
Proxet is seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to build and maintain the test automation frameworks for data-driven defense analytics applications. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical depth, leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and comfort working directly with stakeholders and client engineering teams.

Our client is a U.S.-based software company specializing in defense analytics. Its flagship platform leverages artificial intelligence and integrated data to modernize and accelerate the defense acquisition process. The company serves as a strategic technology partner to the U.S. government in support of national security initiatives.
Location
Hybrid - Boston, US.
Requires US citizenship and hybrid work from the Newton office 3 days per week, with occasional travel to Pittsburgh.
Who are we looking for?
Skills & Experience
- Must be a US citizen and reside in the US
- B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, including at least 3 years in a Lead or Senior SDET capacity driving automation strategy and architectural decisions
- Expert-level proficiency in designing and maintaining scalable automation frameworks. 3+ years of recent Playwright (Java or Typescript) experience. 2+ years of Java experience using Playwright, Selenium
- A forward-thinking grasp of AI-driven testing methodologies to accelerate writing test cases and test automation code.
- Proven ability to act as a technical bridge between Product, Design, Dev, and DevOps, translating business requirements into technical test strategies
- Strong communication and presentation skills
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end (E2E) validation, spearheading the transition from manual checkpoints to a mature, automation-first QE strategy
- Design, build, and optimize scalable automated frameworks (e.g., Playwright) using modular design patterns
- Collaborate with stakeholders to decompose user stories into technical acceptance criteria with full requirements traceability
- Execute high-fidelity API, microservices, and asynchronous UI testing to ensure system-wide functional integrity
- Leverage AI-enabled tools to accelerate test design, automate data generation, and perform intelligent defect analysis
