We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Technical Project Manager specializing in Data Engineering to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of data-focused projects. This role is responsible for overseeing the full project lifecycle—ensuring high-quality technical delivery, effective stakeholder communication, and adherence to data engineering and governance standards.
Acting as both an operational leader and a strategic partner to clients, the TPM builds and manages high-performing data engineering teams, ensures smooth project operations, and maintains strong alignment with stakeholders across multiple regions. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams in Europe, with clients primarily based in the United States.
The Technical Project Manager will manage complex data engineering initiatives that typically include data pipelines, data warehouses, analytics platforms, and cloud-based data solutions. Projects require a deep understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and modern data governance practices. The role focuses on delivering scalable, reliable, and secure data systems aligned with client needs and organizational standards.

Who are we looking for?
Skills & Experience:
- 4–6 years of technical project management experience, specifically within data engineering, BI, or analytics projects.
- Solid technical foundation in data engineering, database architecture, cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), or big data technologies.
- Proven experience managing clients and distributed technical teams across multiple geographies.
- Strong understanding of: Data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, Data warehousing, Data quality, and governance
- Excellent client-facing and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.
- Strong people management abilities with a focus on team engagement and retention.
- High accountability, ownership mindset, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional groups (Sales, Talent Acquisition, HR, Finance, Operations, Technical Practices).
- English: Upper-intermediate to advanced (business proficiency).
Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary technical delivery lead and main contact for all project stakeholders.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables (pipelines, warehouses, analytics solutions).
- Create detailed project plans including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Communicate expectations clearly and consistently to stakeholders and team members.
- Manage and document changes to scope, schedule, and budget.
Project Execution & Delivery
- Lead and manage end-to-end delivery of data engineering projects.
- Track milestones, deliverables, and risks; provide regular status updates.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to infrastructure, data, and delivery.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable data solutions.
- Enforce best practices in data governance, modeling, and ETL/ELT.
Team Management & Leadership
- Build and lead high-performing data engineering teams.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Conduct performance reviews and align team goals with project objectives.
- Partner with People teams to manage attrition risks and key personnel decisions.
- Foster a culture focused on technical ownership and high engineering standards.
Operational Execution
- Work closely with Talent Acquisition and Resource Management on team staffing.
- Maintain accurate project forecasting and planning.
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding of project team members.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, tools, reporting, and documentation.
